Caramel Apple Popcorn
Our Caramel Apple Popcorn recipe makes a yummy movie-night snack and keeps well for several days in Tupperware containers (if there is any left, that is!!)
CARAMEL APPLE POPCORN
Ingredients
- 4 cups Sisters Fruit Co. Red Delicious Apple Chips (about 1.5 bags)
- 12 cups popped popcorn
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup Sisters Fruit Co. Apple Syrup
- 1/2 cup butter OR margarine
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 250 degrees F (120 degrees C). Fill a shallow roasting pan with the popcorn and place it in the oven, while preparing the caramel to keep it warm.
2. Mix brown sugar, apple syrup, butter, and salt together in a heavy 2-quart saucepan over medium heat; stir constantly until mixture comes to a boil.
3. Stop stirring, and boil mixture for 5 minutes.
4. Remove from the heat and stir in baking soda and vanilla until well combined.
5. Pour syrup over warmed popcorn and stir until evenly coated.
6. Return to oven for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally
7. Add in the Apple Chips, folding them gently into the mixture
8. Remove from the oven and spread onto a large sheet of wax paper
9. Cool, then break apart and store in a tightly covered container.
